BUFORD, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - An excavator that caught fire Monday has caused widespread power outages in Hall County, according to the sheriff’s office.
The Hall County Sheriff’s Office said the fire happened in the 5900 block of Blackberry Lane, off McEver Road in Buford. The fire pulled down power lines.
The fire impacted several power substations, causing power outages across the south end of the county, the sheriff’s office said. Some traffic signals are also out.
“It’s likely to be a messy drive home, so take care,” the Hall County Sheriff’s Office wrote in a Facebook post.
