Three people arrested for stabbing at Alexander High School
The student was not seriously injured
DOUGLASVILLE, Ga. (CBS46) - New details have been released about the stabbing at Alexander High School in Douglas County on Tuesday.
Officials say two students and one former student are now in custody.
Police say the suspected attacker and a possible accomplice ran away from the school after the incident in the cafeteria.
Witnesses told police they saw a black Mercedes Benz picking two people with backpacks up.
Georgia State Patrol found the car and driver along with the accused accomplice. Police say the driver dropped off the suspected attacker at his home in Palmetto before being stopped.
The student accused of the stabbing has turned himself in.
We’re told the student suffered a puncture wound but was not seriously injured.

Students and staff at Robert S. Alexander Comprehensive High School in Douglasville were placed under a Code Red lockdown following reports of an incident at the school Tuesday morning.
During a press conference at 12:30 p.m., it was announced that one student was injured and transported to a local hospital. It is believed the student was stabbed but the type of weapon is unknown.
The Douglas County School System sent out an update around 9 p.m. and said the person suspected of being connected to Tuesday’s alleged assault turned himself into the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.
The Sheriff’s Office says they are not looking for anyone else at this time.

In a notice sent to parents, officials wrote:
Alexander High School is currently on a Code Red lockdown. All students are safe and in their classroom. Police Officers are on-site to maintain the safety and security of the building. There will be no check-ins and no checkouts at this time.
The lockdown was lifted at 10:15 a.m. Parents were able to check out their students from class at 10:30 a.m.
The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office addressed the school stabbing on Facebook.
