Back-to-school drives and giveaways happening around Atlanta metro

ATLANTA, Ga. (CBS46) - With the upcoming school year just a few weeks away for the Atlanta metro area, there are plenty of back-to-school events and giveaways to help families in need with school supplies and more. Here are several upcoming events happening in the metro Atlanta area:

SWAG Shop, V-103 FM and Witherite Law Group Event

WHAT: Witherite Law Group, V-103 FM and the SWAG Shop have partnered to offer back-to-school haircuts for school-aged children in Atlanta
WHERE: SWAG Shop locations: 365 Edgewood Ave. SE Atlanta and 3461 Roosevelt Highway Suite 16, Atlanta
WHEN: August 6 from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Back-to-School Bash

WHAT: The Ray of Hope Christian Church will be hosting a school supply giveaway with free backpacks.

Clayton County Community Services Authority Annual Back to School Drive

WHAT: A free community event that features free school supplies, haircuts a bouncy house, face painting and more.
WHERE: 1000 Main St. Forest Park
WHEN: August 6 from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Georgia Spartans School Supply Drive, Basketball Game and Fitness Challenge

WHAT: A community event that will feature a school supply drive and family fun activities, a basketball game featuring a semi-pro basketball team the Georgia Spartans and entertainment.
WHERE: Welcome All Park at 4255 Will Lee Rd. in South Fulton
WHEN: August 6 from 1 p.m. - 4 p.m.

Ebenezer Baptist Church and Choose Healthy Life Back to School Expo and Health Fair

WHAT: There will be a school supply giveaway, voter registration, COVID vaccines and boosters, dental exams, health screenings and more.
WHERE: Ebenezer Baptist Church, Jackson St NE, Atlanta GA
WHEN: August 6 from 11:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

Morrow Back-to-School Bash

WHAT: Clayton County Public School and Joy Tellis Cooper (District 8) hosting a back-to-school event with free haircuts, and a school supply giveaway including 250 clear bags to Clayton County families.

WHEN: August 6, 1 - 4 p.m.

Doraville Back-to-School Health Fair

WHAT: According to officials, there will be free health screenings for families, free COVID vaccinations, $100 cash card for any shot (first 200 people), and free backpacks filled with school supplies and books.

WHEN: August 7 from 1 p.m. - 5 p.m.

Cobb County Safety Village Back-to-School Bash and Giveaway

WHAT: Join Sheriff Craig Owens and the Cobb County Sheriff’s Office for a FREE back-to-school bash and giveaway.
