Norcross man arrested for fatal hit-and-run that killed 66-year-old woman
GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. (CBS46) - Gwinnett County Police have arrested the man they believe is responsible for hitting and killing a 66-year-old woman on Sept. 21.
The man has been identified as 33-year-old Ismael Perez of Norcross. He is being charged with Homicide by Vehicle Leaving the Scene and Hit-and-Run Resulting in Serious Injury of Death.
The deceased has been identified as 66-year-old Sadie Ware of Norcross.
A 66-year-old Norcross woman who was struck and killed early Wednesday morning in Norcross has been identified by police officials.
According to officials, around 6:45 a.m., a car traveling near the intersection of Indian Trail Lilburn Road and Steve Reynolds Boulevard in Norcross struck Sadie Ware. Officials confirmed Ware later died due to injuries she sustained during the collision.
Ware was hit by a teal/green colored Truck or SUV as she crossed the roadway,” according to Gwinnett County police officials. The driver fled the scene.
Investigators are still on the scene.
