40 pounds of narcotics seized at Atlanta airport, police say

Two bags accompanying the person carried 35.8 pounds of methamphetamine and 4.6 of fentanyl, according to police.

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - Forty pounds of narcotics were recently seized at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, according to airport police.

Police said the airport’s Drug Interdiction Unit and airport police arrested a person arriving in Atlanta from Ontario International Airport near Los Angeles.

Two bags accompanying the person carried 35.8 pounds of methamphetamine and 4.6 of fentanyl, according to police.

One bag was “intercepted” before departure and the other was found after the person arrived in Atlanta.
