Gwinnett County distributes domestic violence awareness funds to local nonprofits

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — The Gwinnett County Solicitor’s Office distributed checks to three local nonprofits Thursday morning, using proceeds from its annual Dash 4 Domestic Violence 5K race.

This year’s race raised more than $12,000. The organizations will use the money to help survivors with shelter, counseling and crisis support.

Help is available for those experiencing domestic violence. The Georgia Domestic Violence Hotline operates 24 hours a day at 1-800-334-2836.
