Certain Atlanta-bound Delta flights briefly grounded, FAA says

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — Certain Atlanta-bound Delta flights were grounded Monday at the airline’s request, according to the FAA.

The flights affected would have departed from airports across the southeastern United States.

The following Air Route Traffic Control Centers were affected:

• ZTL (Atlanta)
• ZDC (Washington, D.C.)
• ZHU (Houston)
• ZJX (Jacksonville)
• ZME (Memphis)
• ZID (Indianapolis)

Affected cities included Nashville, New Orleans, Cincinnati and Charlotte.

The airline said the ground stoop was for “operational purposes.”

Not every Atlanta-bound Delta flight was affected.

Departures from Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport were not affected by the ground stop.
