32-year-old man struck and killed on I-75/85 connector, officials say

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - A 32-year-old man was struck and killed Wednesday morning on the Downtown Connector.

It happened on I-75/85 just before University Avenue (exit 244) in Atlanta.

According to Atlanta Police, a pedestrian was struck by a Ford Explorer on the southbound side and landed on the northbound side. He was then struck by a motor coach bus.

Atlanta police said the Explorer was owned by Clayton County and driven by an off-duty Clayton County Corrections employee.

The man killed was identified as Mychall Trice, according to the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office.

According to Atlanta police, Trice died at the scene.

All northbound lanes on the connector were closed near University Avenue as the crash was being investigated. All lanes have since reopened.

The crash remains under investigation.

There was also another crash on I-85 Northbound at 17th Street in Fulton County with all lanes blocked which impacted the morning commute as well. This crash has also cleared.
