Fejzic Euro Bakery to reopen its doors months after beloved bakery owner’s death
LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - Life will never be the same for Ervin Fejzic’s family.
“It’s been a complete emotional roller coaster. It’s a void we will never be able to fill since he has been gone,” said his sister Ervina Fejzic.
The 37-year-old bakery owner was killed on Feb. 3 in an armed robbery. Police immediately arrested 38-year old Leroy Taylor. Ervina said her brother gave the suspect the money he had on him. She said he would have even given the shirt off his back. That is just the kind of person he was.
“We are still trying to figure out why. that is going to be the million-dollar question,” said Fejzic.
The tragedy forced the family to close the doors…until now.
“We are going to open the doors to our community. We hope everybody comes out and supports us like they have been,” she said.
They plan to reopen their doors Apr. 20. Ervina believes it’s what her brother would have wanted.
“He was the best, always outgoing, laughing, super welcoming. He used to give free things out all the time. So those who didn’t have enough or just didn’t have the funds on them, he was just the most amazing person ever,” said Ervina.
The products will stay the same. Customers will be welcomed with photos and tributes on the wall to honor the soccer lover who leaves behind his longtime partner and two-year-old daughter.
“It shook the whole community, not just the family. So I think he would want us to come back together and be stronger than ever,” said Ervina.
