ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — As flu season begins, Georgia health officials are tracking an early rise in respiratory illness and encouraging vaccination.

To make it easier for people to get the shot, Cherokee County is hosting a drive-thru flu shot clinic.

The drive-up clinic at Woodstock Health Center, 7545 N. Main St., is open 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. for anyone 18 and older — just roll up your sleeve and drive up.

The Georgia Department of Health says flu activity started earlier than usual this year, rising through September and October after a severe statewide surge last year.
