ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - Georgia running back Trevor Etienne has a remarkable ability to hold onto the ball, but that didn’t help him against Notre Dame in the Sugar Bowl.

Etienne lost the first fumble of his career in the first quarter against the Fighting Irish. He previously had 360 career carries for both the Bulldogs and Florida Gators. He had just three previous fumbles in his career, but none resulted in a turnover.

The Dawgs had been in Notre Dame’s red zone before the fumble. Luckily for Georgia, Notre Dame couldn’t do anything with the resulting drive.
