ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - A man was killed in a shooting at a DeKalb County apartment complex on Thursday night, police said.

At around 10:30 p.m., officers were called to Candler Forrest Apartments off Candler Road, where they found a 28-year-old man with multiple gunshot wounds in the lobby of an apartment building. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police believe the man, who has not been identified, was in a physical fight with several people before the shooting.

Jodi Bobb, one of the complex’s residents, said crime happens all too often where she lives.

“I’ve had enough. I’m sick of it, because it’s to the point now where my son is not even allowed to come over here on the weekends because of this,” she said. “And when my mom comes to pick me up, she’s very scared. It’s dangerous.”

Police have not named any suspects.
