Savannah Bananas coming to Truist Park this weekend
ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - The Atlanta Braves will begin their season on the road, but Truist Park will still have plenty of roaring fans this weekend.
The Savannah Bananas will make their first trip to Truist Park this weekend as part of their world tour.
The Bananas will pay on Saturday and Sunday. On Saturday, Pregame Plaza will open at 2 p.m. with player appearances. Gates will open at 4:30 p.m. with first pitch at 7.
On Sunday, Pregame Plaza will open at 11 a.m. with player appearances. Gates will open at 1 p.m. with first pitch at 3:30 p.m.
The exhibition entertainment team was formed in 2016 and plays to its own “Banana Ball” rules. The team has become a touring sensation with a style of the game that includes choreographed dance routines.
The Bananas sold out Raymond James Stadium in Tampa earlier this month, playing in front of more than 80,000 fans.
Bananas tickets are extremely hard to get. The Harlem Globetrotters-style team spawned its own reality series and claims to have a waiting list of more than a million fans.
Tickets are subject to a lottery held more than two months before games begin.
