Cherokee County elementary school employee on leave following battery arrest

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - An employee at a Cherokee County elementary school is on administrative leave after they were charged with simple battery, a message to parents and guardians on the district’s website states.

The employee, who has not been identified, was arrested following a Friday incident at Arnold Mill Elementary School.

“The employee had recently been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of internal and law enforcement investigations. Maintaining the safety and security of our students and staff is our top priority and inappropriate conduct will never be tolerated,” the message states.

The school district did not say what happened in the incident.
