Georgia Tech baseball wins regular season ACC title

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets baseball squad have come out on top in a tight ACC. The Jackets clinched their first outright title since 2005 after beating Duke 8-2 Saturday.

Georgia Tech finished the season 39-16 overall and 19-11 in ACC play, just 0.5 games ahead of Florida State and North Carolina.

The regular season championship is a remarkable turnaround for Tech, who lost seven games in a row in late April.

Tech now has a double bye in the ACC tournament. They’ll open postseason play on May 22 at Durham Bulls Athletic Park in Durham, North Carolina.

It’s the sixth regular season conference title for head coach Danny Hall, who announced he would step down at the end of the season.
