DeKalb County police investigating 2nd shooting in two days at busy shopping mall
ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - Two people were injured after a shooting at a DeKalb County shopping center near Stone Mountain on Saturday afternoon, according to police.
It happened around 3:30 p.m. along the 1100 block of South Hairston Road, not far from the intersection with Redan Road. There is a nail salon, cleaners and Jamaican restaurant near in the area where the person was shot. A Dollar General is also in the plaza.
According to police, a vehicle arrived at the plaza and multiple people got out and started shooting. One person inside Taste of Jamaica was struck by the gunfire and another was injured by glass. Both were taken to the hospital.
The suspects took off in a vehicle and got into a crash. They fled into nearby woods, according to police
Investigators have yet to find them.
Three others were shot in the same shopping center on Friday afternoon. Police said one man in his 40s and two men in their 20s were shot. One of the men in his 20s was taken to the hospital in critical condition. The two others have moderate injuries.
No one involved in either incident have been identified.
