Infant thrown from stroller during fight in mall parking lot; mother arrested, police say

LOWER ALLEN, Penn. (Gray News) - Authorities in Pennsylvania say a mother is under arrest after a fight broke out at a mall.

According to the Lower Allen Township Police Department, officers were called to the Capital City Mall on Dec. 13 for a fight in the parking lot.

Officers arrived and met with Messiah Cloud and Kajah George, who were involved in the fight. Both sustained injuries to their knuckles and faces, the department said

Additional suspects in the fight were later identified as Carrie Bowman and Oriel Dykes.

Authorities said surveillance video showed the group fighting in the mall parking lot that afternoon.

During the fight, officers said Dykes could be seen leaving her infant in a stroller in the main aisle to fight in the group.

Dykes ended up returning to her child but brought the infant to where the fight was happening.

Officers said she then kicked at another person, but in doing so, she tipped the stroller over, and her unrestrained child was thrown into the parking lot.

Dykes was arrested and taken to Cumberland County Prison, where charges were completed, authorities said.

Lower Allen Township police said the situation remains under investigation.
