Hosea Helps provides Christmas meals to metro Atlanta families in need
ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — Hosea Helps, an Atlanta-based nonprofit, wrapped up a busy year of giving with a Christmas Day food giveaway that served families across metro Atlanta.
Hosea Helps organized three days of food and toy deliveries, culminating in the Thursday food giveaway. The organization has been collecting toys for children since early December, distributing them on Wednesday before focusing on providing Christmas Day meals.
“We know Atlanta is a beautiful city with so much promise. How can we not do this for the least of these?” said Chief Operating Officer Afemo Omilami. “Don’t forget them. They are somebody.”

Nearly 300 volunteers arrived early to organize and prepare for the event. By 10 a.m., cars began rolling through the distribution site.
Throughout the day, volunteers handed out food or delivered it to 15 different ZIP codes throughout metro Atlanta.
The organization said the mission continues beyond the holiday season.
“Man, with everything people are going through in 2025, some people need some encouragement, some inspiration,” Omilami said. “It never stops.”
