Pastor’s son accused of impregnating 14-year-old girl while she was living with family
PEARL RIVER COUNTY, Miss. (WLOX/Gray News) - A pastor’s son in Mississippi is accused of impregnating a 14-year-old girl while she was living with the family
Dawson James Brown, 27, and his mother, Sabrina Brown, 54, were arrested on Friday after investigators obtained felony arrest warrants for the pair.
Dawson Brown is charged with one count of statutory rape, two counts of sexual battery, and one count of human trafficking.
Sabrina Brown is charged with conspiracy to commit tampering with evidence, attempted tampering with physical evidence, and felony child neglect, which is defined as intentionally and knowingly permitting the continuing sexual abuse of a child.

The Pearl River County Sheriff’s Office (PRCSO) began its investigation after someone anonymously reported that the 14-year-old was pregnant.
PRCSO confirmed that Sabrina Brown is the wife of a pastor at New Heights/College Heights Baptist Church in Poplarville. Dawson is their son.
Authorities said the teen lived with the Brown family at the time Dawson Brown is accused of raping her. Investigators estimate she became pregnant in October or November 2025, when she was 13.
Investigators searched Dawson Brown’s iPhone. Court documents say they found multiple images and videos showing Dawson and the girl having sex.
Court documents also say investigators found numerous electronic communications between the girl and others discussing her pregnancy and identifying Dawson Brown as the father of the unborn child.
The girl’s mother told investigators that Dawson Brown admitted to her he was the father.
Investigators accuse Sabrina Brown of conspiring with the girl to tamper with evidence by instructing her how she could fabricate and submit a false DNA-related document to investigators.
Court documents say Dawson Brown’s text messages to Sabrina Brown appear to “reveal that she attempted to coerce, direct and instruct” the girl to give this false information regarding Dawson’s DNA to investigators.
The 14-year-old’s mother provided a statement that she received money and favors from Dawson Brown.
Sabrina Brown posted a $10,000 bond and was released from jail. Dawson Brown was given no bond, as he was deemed a flight risk.
A preliminary hearing is expected later this week.
