Officers rescue 8-week-old baby after assault at elections hub, Fulton County police say
ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — Police said a domestic incident at the Fulton County elections hub on Tuesday ended with officers rescuing an 8-week-old baby.
Around 12:30 p.m., officers were called to the Fulton County Election Hub and Operation Center, located at 5600 Campbellton Fairburn Road, for a fight in progress, according to the Fulton County Police Department.
A county employee told responding officers she was assaulted by the father of her infant son. The father, identified as Richard Benton, then drove away with the infant and the woman’s cellphone, police said.
Police said an officer got on the phone with Benton and convinced him to pull over at the College Park MARTA station. Officers then took Benton into custody and reunited the 8-week-old boy with his mother.

Charges against Benton are pending.
