2 dead in apparent murder-suicide at Lovejoy townhome community, police say

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — Lovejoy police are investigating an apparent domestic murder-suicide Friday.

Around 8:20 a.m., officers responded to a report of a person shot at the Callaway Townhomes.

There, they discovered two people had been shot. One person was dead and the other died at the hospital.

“Preliminary findings from the initial investigation indicate the incident appears to be a domestic murder-suicide,” police said.

Police said investigators believe it was an isolated incident and that there’s no threat to the public.

The identities of the deceased are being withheld pending notification of their next of kin and formal verification by the medical examiner’s office.
