ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - One dog at an Atlanta animal shelter now has a very famous owner.

Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy said on X, formerly Twitter, that he had adopted a dog from Lifeline Animal Shelter.

The dog, named Miss Peaches, was rescued alongside 26 other dogs a few weeks ago, according to Portnoy.

Portnoy founded Barstool Sports in 2003, but the company exploded in popularity in the mid-2010s with its controversial sports coverage. The rise of sports gambling has only grown the company’s profile.

Portnoy himself is the face of the company, with more than 3 million followers on X, formerly Twitter.

Barstool is now selling merch featuring the pup. Portnoy said 100% of the profits will go toward Lifeline.
