ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — New Year’s Eve celebrations started early for families in Peachtree City.

Thursday, The Avenue Peachtree City held its annual Noon Year’s Eve event.

Instead of counting down to midnight, families counted down to noon. Then, the kids enjoyed a balloon drop.

Leslie Garrett, who brought her daughters and her daughter’s best friend, said it’s great to be able to celebrate the new year early.

“It’s always a fun party here at The Avenue, so they enjoy all the activities and the DJ as well,” Garrett said.

The event featured a mix of family-friendly activities, including live music, face painting, a balloon artist and a bounce house.

“We also have another photo opportunity that’s 80’s themed, which is what we’re going for today,” Kelly Lawrence, Marketing Manager for The Avenue Peachtree City, said.

Lawrence said the event is a way for the entire family to ring in the new year together.

“I think this event is really good for parents because you get the opportunity to ring in the new year with your kids before all those late-night festivities,” Lawrence said.

“We can party early, and then they can go to bed, and we can party late,” Garrett said.

Several restaurants at The Avenue will also stay open late for New Year’s Eve celebrations.
