National Girl Scout Cookie Weekend: How to find a stand
ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — If you want to support your local Girl Scout troops, now is a great time to do it!
Saturday marks the first day of National Girl Scout Cookie Weekend. According to the Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta, the best-selling cookie in the city this year is the Thin Mint.
In addition to the classic cookies, there’s a new one this year — Exploremores. The rocky road ice cream-inspired cookie is sold in a box featuring three metro Atlanta girls from Cobb, Coweta and Fulton counties.
But it’s about more than just cookies. All the money your local Girl Scouts make stays with their troops.
“When you’re buying a box of cookies, you’re supporting a girl from your community so they can continue to participate in the best leadership program for girls in our country,” said Jennifer Caraballo, chief people and engagement officer for Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta.
If you don’t know any Girl Scouts and aren’t sure where to find cookies, you can buy them online or go to ShowMeTheCookies.com and enter your zip code to find where they are being sold near you.
