Thumbs Up diner catches fire in Roswell

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — Fire crews in Roswell put out a blaze at popular breakfast spot Thumbs Up diner on Saturday evening.

Bystanders called 911 and alerted the fire department about smoke coming from a business just before 8 p.m.

Crews arrived at the restaurant at 1140 Alpharetta Street in less than 2 minutes, according to the Roswell Fire Department.

The fire was quickly contained and crews isolated the damage to the cooking area of a single unit.

There were no reported injuries.

“Thank you to the bystanders who saw smoke and called 911 without hesitation,” the Roswell Fire Department said. “If you see smoke or fire, call 911 right away. Never assume someone else already has.”

The cause of the fire remains under investigation, the department said.
