Bus driver finds caged monkey hidden in abandoned laundry bag

LONDON (CNN) — A bus driver in London found a marmoset monkey while on his route last week.

The animal was inside a cage placed within a large laundry bag and was believed to have been abandoned by its owner.

An animal welfare charity took in the monkey. A veterinarian found her to be healthy.

The monkey has since been nicknamed “Oyster” and is settling into a sanctuary with facilities for primates.

Officials continue to investigate how the animal got on the bus and who left her.
