ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — SWAT officers converged on a condominium community early Sunday as part of a law enforcement investigation.

Officers said they were patrolling the area around a Citgo gas station in the 2000 block of Stanton Road about 2 a.m. when they were flagged down by a woman who asked to be escorted home, East Point police said.

She said that while she was driving home, her children called her to tell her that they heard gunshots around their residence in the 2800 block of Bayrose Circle in East Point.

When officers arrived, they also heard gunshots coming from the vicinity around a residence on Bayrose Circle.

The officers requested that SWAT officers secure the area around the townhome, which they did, police said.

When the tactical team arrived, they surrounded the residence and after obtaining a search warrant, searched it but found no suspicious activity or people.

The incident remains under investigation.
