ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — An annual Atlanta music festival is taking a break in 2027 to set the stage for 2028.
Porchfest is going on hiatus next year, the Virginia Highland District said in an Instagram post.
“Porchfest has grown since its modest beginnings in 2021. In some ways, it has grown beyond the capacity of our neighborhood. We want to meet that growth with the right structure and support, so we are pausing Porchfest in 2027 to reimagine the festival for its return in 2028,” the organization said.
The organization said it was not an easy decision.
“We conducted studies, gathered input from event partners, neighbors, attendees, and participants, and we took a hard look at what this event needs to rock safely and responsibly,” the organization said. “We are committed to welcome you back for the best day ever in our beloved neighborhood. And that takes time.”
Porchfest is a neighborhood-wide music day for the Virginia Highland neighborhood.
