Barbara Bellinger

Barbara Bellinger joined the 14 News team in August 2025 as a Multimedia Journalist and Weekend Anchor. She is excited to experience the sounds, tastes and climate of the “south” after spending two years reporting in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.

Barbara started her media career with our sister station, WLUC-TV in Negaunee, MI., as the Escanaba Bureau Multimedia Journalist. She won three Michigan Association of Broadcasting awards including Best News Reporter for Commercial Television Market 4. She covered multiple counties reporting on breaking news, extreme weather, local government, law enforcement, education, crime and day-to-day life activities of Yoopers, including going out on the ice of Lake Michigan in the middle of winter for ice fishing, snuggling up with Highland cattle at the U.P. State Fair and walking across the Mackinac Bridge for the annual Labor Day Bridge Walk.

Barbara graduated with a master's in journalism from Michigan State University in September 2023. Her print work has been published in newspapers across the state including the Detroit News, Benzie County Record Patriot, Traverse City Record-Eagle and the Cadillac News, and she worked for MIRS News as a Capitol correspondent for a year. But after an internship at our sister station, WILX-TV in Lansing, MI., Barbara knew television news was for her.

She’s already begun exploring the beauty of the Tri-State area including the John James Audubon State Park and the Sloughs Wildlife Management Area. When she is not working, Barbara loves to listen to the cicadas, eat fried pickles and plan her next spot to explore.

Feel free to reach out to Barbara if you have any story ideas or thoughts for where she should explore next and follow her on social media.
