Teen shot to death at southwest Atlanta apartment complex, police say

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - A teenager is dead after being shot several times at an apartment complex in southwest Atlanta, according to police.

The shooting happened at the Villages at Carver apartment complex, located at 201 Moury Ave. SW, around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday.

According to police, the victim, identified as Kevelle Byrd by the Fulton County medical examiner, was shot several times and taken to Grady Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Homicide investigators are at the scene getting witness statements and possible video.

No word has been given about a possible suspect or a motive behind the shooting.
