Man dies, ‘armed and dangerous’ stepson on the run, Marietta police say
ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - A man is on the run after he allegedly shot and killed his stepfather, according to Marietta police.
Police said officers responded to an apartment at 13 Ridge Run around 6:30 p.m. Monday and found Michael Jackson, 58, with multiple gunshot wounds.
Jackson had allegedly been shot by his stepson, 26-year-old Pharron Banks, during a “domestic dispute,” police said.
He was taken to the hospital, where police confirmed he later died from his injuries on Tuesday morning.
With the help of Atlanta police and license plate reader technology, Marietta police were able to track Banks’ vehicle. They found it at an apartment complex on John Hope Drive in Atlanta with no one inside.

Banks has not been located, and police say he is considered “armed and dangerous.” He stands 6 feet, 5 inches tall and weighs around 160 pounds.

A warrant has been issued for Banks’ arrest. He faces charges of homicide, aggravated assault and third-degree cruelty to a child.
Anyone with information should call 911 immediately.
