ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — A man is facing several charges after barricading himself inside a home during a several-hour standoff with Winder and Barrow County law enforcement.

The incident began just after 9 p.m. on Saturday when Barrow County deputies and Winder police were called to a home in the area of Box Circle.

During the ordeal, residents were advised to avoid the area and follow any directions from responding officers.

Just after midnight, the suspect, identified as Alexander Agapi, surrendered to authorities and was taken into custody without incident.

Agapi has been charged with aggravated assault and making terroristic threats. More charges may be added as the law enforcement investigation continues, the Barrow County Sheriff’s Office said.
