Here’s how much money Georgia coach Kirby Smart makes for Dawgs’ College Football Playoff appearance

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - Georgia head coach Kirby Smart is already the highest-paid coach in college football, but the Bulldogs’ appearance in the College Football Playoff guarantees him even more money.

The contract guarantees Smart an annual salary of $13 million and some pretty hefty bonuses for postseason success.

Smart has already cashed a $400,000 check for winning his third SEC Championship; the Dawgs’ appearance in the Sugar Bowl nets him another $200,000.

If the Dawgs go all the way and win the national championship, that $200,000 becomes $1 million. Smart gets $500,000 if the team loses in the semifinal and $600,000 if the team loses in the national championship.
