ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — An 18-story vacant office tower in Chamblee came down Saturday morning in a controlled implosion.

Demolition crews brought down the building at 1800 Century Boulevard at 7:45 a.m. The site is near Clairmont Road and I-85.

The tower emptied out in 2025 when the Georgia Department of Revenue moved its headquarters.

A plan to convert the building into apartments was later dropped, clearing the way for demolition.

It is unclear what the property may be used for now.
